By Shaun

June 22nd, 2010

Here’re some screen grabs from the livermore shoot last months. These screenshots are straight from RedAlert with 1 light correction. They look good at this point. The final grading of the film will be completed on AutoDesk Lustre system. More screen grabs will come in near future.

Stroller Model

By Shaun

June 21st, 2010

My post team has sent me two renderings of the stroller we used in the shoot. It looks pretty cool just as the real one. We used a real Stokke Stroller for the shoot. Now we need a 3D CGI model of the exact same stroller for a few VFX shots we’re currently working on. Since the CGI stroller will only appear in the distance shots, it doesn’t need to be highly detailed.

Poseidon design finalized

By Shaun

June 7th, 2010

Here’re some renders for the EOS Poseidon. The design has been finalized. Texture and lighting will follow. The model is highly detailed. My only concern is the amount of rendering power shot 19 requires. We may have to do some test to find out if there’s a way to cheat polygons.

DOV film school

By Shaun

June 4th, 2010

I’ll be attending the Dov 2-day film school in San Francisco from June 19 to 20. I’ve heard about this film making crash course for a while now. The reviews on it have been mixed. There’re a large number of people who have attended raved about it, and there’s equal number of people think it’s a wast of money. They think it’s better just to learn by books or online discussion. For me, I’ve read a lot of film books, read even more online and are doing it. So maybe it’s time to recharge a little with a new approach: seminar/crash course. I believe all these different approaches make you a better film maker, there’s no one magic bullet.
